Dear members of the IndSPN,

Greetings and warm wishes to you all from New Delhi, the political happening city of India .It gives me great pleasure to present to you the first newsletter and update you about the activities of our society for this calendar year. This newsletter has the proceedings of the GBM meeting held on 16 Feb 2019, New Delhi.

I take this opportunity to welcome our new Editor Dr. Dattatraya Muzumdar. On behalf of all the members of our society, I wish him the very best. Our outgoing Editor, Dr. Sandip Chatterjee has done a commendable job of improving the quality of the journal over the last 3 years. Brazilian society of paediatric neurosurgery has expressed their interest to be partner with our society journal.

Our webmaster (Dr. R Murali) has done a great job to revamp the INDSPN website (www. indspn.org). The renovated website is also mobile-compatible and you can access it anytime. All your profiles have been updated and it has been made interactive and dynamic. You can log on and sign in with your registered email ID. The exact process of registration has been sent to your mail ID. Please update any changes to make communication easier. Each member has been allotted a distinct membership number. This also has a 3 letter word that shows you the type of membership. Eg. LMB – Life member; AMB – Associated member etc. You can also upload interesting cases which will be of educative benefit to members and have a discussion on these. Please use the facility so that our website can be made interesting and also be a “Go-To” place for neurosurgeons and neurosurgical residents. You can send us interesting pictures that we can upload to the “Gallery”.Still some members’ Email addresses are not working and mails are being returned. Please register, log in and update your mail ids and addresses.

I am sure the organising team is working hard to make it a memorable event both in academics and local hospitality.

Resident Award papers can be submitted online with a copy to the Secretary at indspn.office@gmail.com. So please register attend and benefit from the scientific feast laid out for you. thI urge all members to do some activity in their cities/home state on 25 October this year to increase awareness about prevention and early treatment of children affected with spina bifida on occasion of Spina Bifida day. Our society has now grown to over 315 members and we must try to do activities on paediatric neurosurgery advancements on regular basis. This year, online elections for the post of Vice President of our society will be held for 2020 – 2021 term. Notification for the same will be sent in First week of October to all IndSPN members.
